Recruitment Opportunities
We are so excited to welcome you into Greek life at Davis! There are two ways to join: Formal Recruitment in Fall quarter or through informal recruitment which is hosted by chapters throughout the year. Both are great ways to join! We understand that recruitment can be intimidating, especially if you don’t know a lot about Greek life. But, the recruitment process at Davis is designed to be inclusive and welcoming to anyone! Formal Recruitment
Formal Recruitment happens during the first few weeks of Fall Quarter. It consists of an orientation, 4 days of recruitment, and Bid day! Orientation is where you will be assigned your recruitment counselor. Recruitment counselors are members of Greek life who have disaffiliated from their chapters to be able to support and guide you through the recruitment process. During formal recruitment you get the opportunity to meet girls from every chapter and learn more about chapters’ philanthropy, sisterhood and values. We utilize a mutual selection process and values based recruitment to ensure that you end up at a chapter that best aligns with your values. Bid day is where you reveal what chapter has extended you a bid and you get to run home to the chapter for a fun celebration.
Informal Recruitment
Informal Recruitment is hosted by individual chapters throughout the year depending on a chapter's ability to welcome in new members. Informal Recruitment can also be referred to as COR (continuous open recruitment) or COB (continuous open binding). Chapters may post on instagram or reach out to Potential New Members when they are hosting COB.
