Message from the President

Hiii! My name is Kylie Meas and I am honored to be the Chapter President of Tri Delta at UC Davis. I am a third-year student majoring in Human Biology and minoring in Human Development! I knew Tri Delta was the place for me when I went through formal recruitment the fall of my freshman year because I felt a spark of energy every round I went back, eventually leading me to a heartwarming preference night where I decided that I’ve found my home away from home. Being around so many like-minded women has inspired and motivated me to better myself and others every day. Deciding to go Greek was definitely a step out of my comfort zone, but I had the urge to find a comforting sense of community and empowering support system during my undergrad to fulfill the “older sister” role that I never had growing up. Not only did I score the most amazing big, but a whole chapter full of spectacular girls that I can’t imagine my college experience at Davis without.

I believe that my chapter is special because we have formed an unwavering sense of compassion and support with one another, despite our diverse backgrounds and interests. Every time I come across a Tri Delta on campus, during one of our events, or even filling up our living room for our chapter meetings, a feeling of gratitude washes over me knowing that I have found someone who I can trust and enjoy spending time with. I am proud to represent Delta Delta Delta because I enjoy being part of a group that embodies community impact, personal growth, and shared values: truth, self-sacrifice, and friendship. Beyond just sharing care and sensitivity towards one another, I am confident to announce that every one of our members holds a special compassion and warmth for our philanthropy, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Our philanthropic events– such as Delta Desserts, Delta House of Pancakes, Delta Dodgeball, and Sincerely Yours– and fundraising efforts benefit patients and their families at St. Jude as they never receive a bill for their stay and treatment. We are happy to partner with an organization that holds a mission to find cures for children with cancer and other life-threatening diseases and hold a 94% survival rate for patients. An extra sweet perk of our fall philanthropy, Delta Desserts, is that all proceeds go towards our local Make-A-Wish Foundation which is a nonprofit organization dedicated to fulfilling wishes for children with life-threatening diseases. I am proud to announce that Tri Delta will always stand as a sisterhood rooted in compassion, using our bond not only to support one another, but to create meaningful change for the children and families who need it most.

Becoming Chapter President was never my intention when I first joined, but I soon realized I wanted to have a larger contribution to my chapter and become a part of something greater than myself. A lot of encouragement and character building has come from my friends in the chapter, especially the outgoing President Rhea, also known as my wonderful big. She has inspired me to grow leadership, communication, and empathy skills into valuable attributes which have an impact on not just myself, but everyone around me as well. I am grateful to have built such a strong bond with my sorority family, and I deeply appreciate their encouragement as I step into the role of President, following in the footsteps of my own big. My lovely fam becomes even more awesome and lovable with every new addition (shoutout Marisa and Nevi)! One of the most remarkable and funniest people I know would have to be my freshman-year roommate Sabrina–who ran home to Tri Delta alongside me– and has continued to be my roommate as we lived together in the lovely 227 (Tri Delta house) and now share a cozy cottage together. I will always cherish the memories we’ve all have created and continue to appreciate the opportunities that my sorority has given me over these ye

Message from the Recruitment Team

Hi everyone! My name is Gianna and I am the Director of Member Selection for Tri Delta. I am also a third year clinical nutrition student. I joined Tri Delta my sophomore year through formal recruitment. It was my first house on Go Greek and I immediately felt so welcomed and loved the second I stepped inside. I kept thinking about Tri Delta all throughout recruitment and knew that was where I was supposed to be. What makes Tri Delta so special is the community we have. Our girls are down for anything, whether that’s a weekend trip to San Francisco or Tahoe, hiking in Berryessa, grabbing coffee for a study date, thrifting downtown, and anything in between. I have met my best friends through Tri Delta who have truly made my college experience so special. This formal recruitment season I am looking forward to stepping into the role of Director of Member Selection and helping with our very own recruitment process. I love getting to do the behind the scenes work, and I love being a part of a team. I also work at the ARC as the Personal Trainer Student Manager and have plenty of experience with running a team, and I think I will be able to utilize many of those skills during recruitment.

A unique chapter experience of mine is meeting my best friends and soon to be roommates. I joined Tri Delta as a sophomore, so I already had a close friend group I had made my freshman year. However, I was feeling as though I lacked a community at Davis. After joining Tri Delta, I found so much more than a community. I found some of my best friends who I am going to be living with next year for my senior year, and I could not be more excited. As stated previously, before going Greek I felt like I was lacking a community at Davis. Although I had a great group of friends, they were all part of something else, whether that was a club, sports team, or Greek organization. I was missing that. Two of my best friends went through the COB process for Tri Delta spring of our freshman year and loved it. They told me I have to rush in the fall and that I would love it too, and they were absolutely right. While I was nervous to go through formal recruitment, it was one of the best decisions I have made during my time here at Davis.
