Letter from Recruitment Team

Hey Aggies,

Welcome to Panhellenic Recruitment at UC Davis! Our community, composed of nine Panhellenic chapters, one associate chapter, and countless driven members, is so excited that you’re interested in getting involved.

We understand that you’d want to know as much about the recruitment process as possible before going into it, which is why we want to emphasize the resources that you have at your disposal. This website contains information about each of our chapters, the different officers, and even frequently asked questions about recruitment! If you’re still on the fence, feel free to reach out to the Panhellenic recruitment head team with questions. We want you to feel as informed and welcomed as possible!

Joining a sorority can provide a powerful support system to help you navigate through some of the most exciting and tumultuous years of your life. Beyond the built-in support system, becoming part of the UC Davis Panhellenic community can provide so much more; our members are involved in research, clubs, organizations, jobs, sports, and everything in between, with many even holding leadership positions in their own chapters. What we all share is a common bond through our involvement in Panhellenic, which connects our sisters in innumerable ways, both in the college years and beyond.

I’m Clara Fischer, this year’s Vice President of Recruitment. Graduating high school and entering college during a pandemic wasn’t something I ever could have anticipated, so moving to Davis was even more nerve-wracking than I thought it would be. Despite all of this anxiety, I pushed myself out of my comfort zone by signing up for formal recruitment, and I’m so glad I did. Each and every one of our chapters here at UC Davis offers something unique, and I loved seeing that on full display during recruitment. Ultimately, I found my home in a chapter here, but those initial interactions with PNMs, my Pi Rho Chi and active members in each chapter made me feel at home in the Panhellenic community from the very beginning.

My name is Reagan Campbell and I am your Assistant VP of Recruitment. I am so excited for you all to see what the Panhellenic experience has in store for you! Like Clara said above, coming into this, I was unsure and carried anxieties about the process and Panhellenic overall. Now, three years into joining my sorority, I’m so grateful for everything it’s given me. Not only does this involve close friendships and a sense of community, but also the extent to which I’ve grown on a personal level. I never could have imagined myself in a leadership position like this one when going through recruitment — but now, I take it on with a confidence that I don’t think I would have if not for my sorority and Panhellenic.

Now that you’ve heard about our own experiences and have gotten to know us a little bit more, we wanted to share with you our two main goals for this year. Firstly, we want to work together with all of Panhellenic to guarantee that everyone feels comfortable and safe throughout recruitment and even beyond that. It’s important that we ensure that every single person feels heard, valued, and welcomed within this space. Secondly, we want to see to it that everyone going through recruitment leaves with a good impression of our community, even if they end up deciding not to join it. This experience should be one that impacts you for the better no matter how it ends!

Although we know that the recruitment process can be intimidating, it is also a one-of-a-kind opportunity to meet others who share your same values and find a tight-knit community on this vast campus. Wherever this experience leads you, be proud of yourself for broadening your horizons and having the courage to take part in this exhilarating ordeal. Have fun and enjoy the process — we can't wait to meet you!

Much love,

The UC Davis Panhellenic Recruitment Team
